Use Sociamonials in ChatGPT Work or Codex: an agency starter workflow

Sociamonials Editorial · Published October 26, 2026 · Sources and review method below

For Sociamonials’ documented desktop integration, open API Console, choose Connect your tools, then ChatGPT Desktop and Codex. Follow the setup for your computer, restart the app and complete browser authentication. Use Work or Codex in a fresh conversation, then ask to list your social profiles. Check the actual client destination before moving from a writing task to a separately authorized account action.[1]

1. Choose the desktop surface for the job

Sociamonials documents one desktop connection shared by Work and Codex. Its guide distinguishes the top-left product menu from the Chat/Work switch inside ChatGPT: this integration’s tools are supported in Work and Codex, rather than Chat. It describes this connection as desktop-only. Those are the supported paths for this Sociamonials integration, not a claim that all ChatGPT plugins are unavailable in Chat, on the web or on mobile. Availability also depends on the ChatGPT plan and workspace settings.[1]

OpenAI’s desktop comparison describes Work as presenting finished outputs in less technical language, while Codex exposes developer details and review views. It also says their capabilities overlap. Choose Work for a client content pack if that presentation suits you; choose Codex if you prefer working alongside local briefs and files. You do not need to turn a marketing task into a software project to use the connection.[3]

2. Follow the setup for your computer

In your Sociamonials account menu, open API Console, then Connect your tools and ChatGPT Desktop and Codex. Select macOS or Windows. On macOS, copy the account-generated macOS setup block into Codex, rather than Chat or Work. Review its requested installation before approving it. The guide names the installed plugin Social Media Assistant. After installation, fully quit and reopen the desktop app, then open Settings, Plugins, Social Media Assistant, MCP servers and Authenticate. Review and approve the browser connection request.[1]

On Windows, use the setup page’s Install for ChatGPT Desktop package. Unzip it with its files together and run install-windows.cmd from that package. Complete the browser approval and check the installer’s result. Fully close and reopen the desktop app afterward. Follow the current account setup instructions if your available interface differs. Do not substitute a script or download supplied by an unrelated source.[1]

The Sociamonials guide says browser approval can create a key for the application; it does not require creating a key first or pasting one into a conversation. In Work, select ChatGPT and then Work; in Codex, select Codex. Start a fresh conversation and request: List my social profiles. Compare the actual result with the intended client’s workspace and network. A public web answer, an example profile name or a plausible business description is not evidence of connected account access.[1]

3. Begin with a complete client writing task

The fictional client is Northline Bookkeeping. Its supplied current brief permits monthly bookkeeping and bank reconciliation for sole traders, in a calm, practical voice. It supplies no price, tax qualification, tax-saving claim, turnaround promise, discount, customer result or booking link. Sam is the agency editor and Lee is the client reviewer. N-FB and N-LI are illustrative Facebook and LinkedIn labels, not actual profile IDs or observed connection results.

The first deliverable is two complete text-only caption proposals and one client review note. The Facebook proposal helps someone gather records for a first conversation; the LinkedIn proposal invites a review of an existing bookkeeping routine. These are proposed editorial purposes, not measured platform preferences. No date, media upload or publishing action is required to evaluate the writing. A request to promise tax savings is unresolved and stays out of both captions.

4. Use a prompt with a checkable result

Paste the complete brief and worksheet with this reusable prompt: Prepare a two-network content pack for Northline Bookkeeping from the supplied brief only. It offers monthly bookkeeping and bank reconciliation for sole traders; use a calm, practical voice. Produce one complete Facebook caption about gathering business records for a first conversation and one complete LinkedIn caption about reviewing a bookkeeping routine. Return each intended profile label, supplied facts used, customer purpose and unresolved checks, plus a complete client review note. No price, tax qualification, tax-saving claim, turnaround, offer, booking link or customer result has been supplied. Keep the suggested tax-saving promise held. This is a writing task: do not list profiles again, open accounts, call tools, save drafts, upload media, schedule, publish or contact anyone.

Complete Facebook reference: A new month is a useful time to gather your business records. Northline Bookkeeping offers monthly bookkeeping and bank reconciliation for sole traders. Ask Northline which records to prepare for a first conversation. Complete LinkedIn reference: Reviewing how your business keeps its books? Northline Bookkeeping offers monthly bookkeeping and bank reconciliation for sole traders. Ask about the information needed to discuss your bookkeeping routine. These are authored examples for checking an actual response. Their purposes differ, while both stay within the same service facts. A real client may prefer different wording or another network; ask Lee to review that choice.

Complete client review note: Please review the two complete Northline captions against the current service brief. They contain no price, tax-saving promise or deadline. Confirm the intended Facebook and LinkedIn profiles and any changes before we request a saved draft. Nothing has been saved, scheduled or published in this exercise. The worksheet keeps this note, both captions and the unsupported suggestion together. All Northline material is a Codex-authored teaching fixture, not an observed response from a separate assistant trial. No connection, actual profile query, client approval or product action was performed for this example.

5. Separate the writing result from account work

Sam should first check the full proposed text against the brief and resolve Lee’s decisions. If the next agreed job is saving a draft, separately verify the actual workspace, destination and available operation in that session. Show the chosen complete caption and real destination before authorizing that action. Inspect the saved item afterward in the product or through an actually available read operation. Do not invent a tool name or treat a written confirmation as proof of a saved record.

The desktop guide describes drafting first and asking before queueing, scheduling or publishing. Verify the behavior and permission prompts in your own session. Its setup and intended behavior do not guarantee that every REST operation is available to an assistant, that a saved draft is client-approved or that any post was delivered. This walkthrough’s finished output is a proposed content pack, with no scheduled send.[1]

6. Check the connection before repeating a request

If the assistant answers from public web information or asks for a key, do not paste one. Recheck the desktop surface, restart the app after installation and use a fresh conversation. The product guide directs users to the plugin’s Authenticate control for browser sign-in. If the returned profile list lacks the intended client, check the account’s existing access with its administrator before proceeding; do not select another client merely to complete the task.[1]

A useful diagnostic message is: I am checking whether this fresh Work or Codex session can access the intended Northline connection. Report the available profiles only through an existing authorized read operation. Do not infer account access from the web, create a draft, change permissions or repeat credentials. If no appropriate operation is available, explain what is missing. If you have already requested a save, inspect its actual result before deciding whether to repeat it. This instruction is a proposed check, not a tested automatic recovery feature.

7. Choose the scope for a recurring agency service

The AgencyPro API operates multiple client workspaces through one integration with client permission isolation and optional approval routing for API-created posts. It requires an active AgencyPro subscription on the primary agency workspace. Ordinary free trials exclude API access. The Workspace API serves one brand workspace. These are Sociamonials scope and eligibility facts; check ChatGPT availability and any provider costs separately.[2]

Use the AgencyPro overview to evaluate a repeatable client service: start from a verified client brief, prepare different complete customer messages, obtain review and verify any separately authorized account action. Show a prospect this finished pack and demonstrate only the connected operations you can actually perform. Agree whether your service covers writing, review, saving drafts or publishing. Record accepted client deliverables and repeated use separately from paid subscriptions or business outcomes.

When this approach needs adjusting

  • Northline, the people, labels, captions and review note are fictional authored references. No separate assistant trial, installation, account query, draft, upload, message or publication was performed.
  • These are current documented desktop connection paths, not a test of every plan, platform or interface. Check the supported route for the particular integration, plan and interface you intend to use.
  • An available connection does not establish the right client destination, permission for a write, client approval or delivery. Verify actual account state and inspect the result of any separately authorized action.
  • This guide adds no provider entitlement, bundled AI usage, price, guaranteed business result or ordinary-free-trial API access. Check the relevant plans and actual available operations.

Return to this next week

Prepare another pack from a fresh client brief in the same verified workspace. Keep the two customer purposes distinct, retain actual review decisions and inspect any separately authorized saved items. Track repeat accepted deliverables and completed product actions separately from connection attempts, public page requests and paid accounts.
