Prepare social-image alt text with AI from client-approved observations

Sociamonials Editorial · Published October 23, 2026 · Sources and review method below

Give the assistant each image’s exact asset reference, post context, client-approved observations and any readable text or data. Ask it for a description plus specific unresolved checks. Compare the candidate with the actual image before saving it. Keep a stale poster, unreadable detail or mismatched client out of the publishing batch; changing its description cannot repair the underlying asset. Treat the output as prepared text, not proof of accessibility or completed publication.

1. Make image-description preparation part of client delivery

An agency can add a concrete deliverable to its recurring content service: an image register pairing each exact file with a proposed description and a named reviewer. Agree who supplies reliable observations, who inspects the final file and who authorizes publishing. Show a prospect the finished register and one reviewed description, then explain the unresolved items. This is a bounded service you can demonstrate before promising wider automation.

Sociamonials documents an alt-text utility in the Publisher’s attached-images area. Its instructions are to hover over an image, choose the alt option, type a description and save it. The same page connects descriptions with access for people using screen readers. It does not establish that every network, format or API operation carries the field unchanged; verify the actual route you plan to use.[1]

2. Start with an observation record for each exact image

The fictional client is Harbor Bicycle Repairs. The exercise review is November 9, 2026 at 9 AM America/Los_Angeles, with six invented text records for upcoming social drafts. Morgan is the client reviewer. No images were supplied or inspected, no assistant was tested and no description was saved in Sociamonials. The observations and post contexts are teaching inputs, not facts collected from a real client.

For each record, supply the asset reference and version, intended client and post, exact readable words or chart values, observations approved for the exercise, proposed posting time and any uncertainty. Separate a supplied observation from a sales claim. A filename called happy-customer cannot establish emotion, identity or a testimonial. If the real file changes, reopen its record rather than applying a description approved for the previous view.

3. Compare the six records and keep the holds visible

A1’s supplied observation is a close-up of a hand connecting a floor-pump hose to a bicycle tyre valve. Its illustrative reference description is: A hand connects a floor-pump hose to a bicycle tyre valve. The proposed draft is November 10 at 10 AM Pacific, after the exercise review. A6 is a different view, version 2, where the valve is outside the frame. Its reference is: Floor pump beside a bicycle; the tyre valve is outside the frame. Do not reuse A1’s connection description for A6. The proposed A6 draft is November 12 at 10 AM Pacific.

A3’s supplied chart covers completed bicycle repairs on November 2–4, 2026: Monday 12, Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 15. Its reference description is: Bar chart of completed bicycle repairs, November 2–4, 2026: Monday 12, Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 15. Preserve the unit and period; do not rename repairs as new customers, revenue or sales. The proposed draft is November 11 at 10 AM Pacific. All values are fictional; no actual chart or reporting dashboard was checked.

A2’s poster reads Puncture clinic; November 8, 2026; 4 PM Pacific. Its proposed November 10 post would invite people to an event already over at the November 9 review. Hold the image and request a current replacement; a fresh description alone cannot update the poster. A4’s cropped brake-check graphic has missing text and unreadable figures. Hold it for a readable original and confirmed wording. A5 belongs to Haven Boat Repairs, so exclude it from Harbor’s batch without inventing a bicycle-related description.

4. Use a prompt with candidates and holds as examples

OpenAI’s prompting documentation describes using input/output examples to show the desired pattern and separating instructions, examples and context. Use the candidate and hold cases together so the requested output includes unresolved work, rather than a polished sentence for every input. This applies the documented prompting approach; it is not a measured claim that this particular prompt prevents errors.[2]

Prepare image-description candidates from the supplied observation records for the named client. Return asset ID/version, post context, proposed description, unresolved checks, decision and reviewer. Use only supplied observations and exact readable text or data; keep units and periods. Do not infer identity, emotion, quality, technical measurements or missing words. Preserve uncertainty. Use the stated review clock and zone to compare each proposed send time with that clock and any event deadline. Do not fix a stale poster merely by changing its description. Keep clients and image versions separate. Example A1: supplied hand connecting a floor-pump hose to a bicycle tyre valve → candidate text describing that action. Example A2: November 8 clinic poster reviewed November 9 → hold for a current asset. Aim for at most 300 characters per candidate as this exercise’s editorial budget, not a universal platform limit. No image is available for you to inspect. Do not fetch files or personal data, edit product records, save, schedule, publish or contact anyone. Inputs: [client, reviewer, review time/zone, asset records and proposed times].

The authored reference result has three candidates for actual image review, A1, A3 and A6; two holds, A2 and A4; and one excluded asset, A5. The three full reference descriptions above fit the exercise’s 300-character budget. Every row retains its reason and next action. These are illustrative decisions for this text fixture, not results from a separate prompt test, proof of visual accuracy or completed client approval.

5. Inspect, save and verify the actual destination

Morgan should compare each proposed description with the exact final image and post context, resolve the specific holds, and record the approved wording. Recheck the real clock before any authorized scheduling; the November dates here are an exercise. Under the documented Publisher procedure, the operator enters the description through the image’s alt utility and saves it. No save or publishing action is performed by this guide.[1]

Keep the exact image version and approved text together through any authorized publishing step. Reopen the saved field and verify the description on the actual destination where available. If the chosen network, media format or delivery path does not expose the expected description, investigate its documented options before calling the deliverable complete. Record what was observed rather than treating a successful save or an AI-written sentence as proof that all audiences received the information.

6. Evaluate AgencyPro for the wider client service

The AgencyPro API operates client workspaces through one integration with per-client permissions and optional approval routing for API-created posts. It requires an active AgencyPro subscription on the primary agency workspace; ordinary free trials exclude API access. The Workspace API serves one brand workspace. Those public facts establish broader publishing scope and eligibility, not a verified operation for saving per-image alt text through MCP or the API.[3]

Use the AgencyPro overview below to evaluate a service combining separate client workspaces, content preparation and authorized social delivery. Show the three descriptions and unresolved asset decisions to an agency prospect, then demonstrate the actual image-editor and destination checks on an appropriately authorized account. Offer unattended alt-text writes only after the specific operation and its result are verified. For one business, assess the workspace scope before buying an agency plan.

When this approach needs adjusting

  • All client records, observations, dates and description candidates are fictional. No image inspection, separate prompt test, product save, approval or publication occurred.
  • A description prepared from text cannot verify the actual image. This is not an accessibility-conformance assessment, legal advice or a guarantee of the destination’s behavior.
  • The 300-character budget is an editorial choice for this exercise. Confirm actual destination limits and format support; no universal limit or cross-network transmission is established.
  • The public API evidence establishes workspace publishing scope and eligibility, not verified per-image alt-text writes through API or MCP. The documented native editor remains a separate path.

Return to this next week

Repeat the image register for the next client batch. Resolve held assets with Morgan, keep approved wording bound to the actual final version and verify the intended destination after authorized delivery. Record actual field and destination observations. Measure completed reviewed descriptions as a service deliverable; do not treat them as proof of accessibility conformance, paid conversions or better social reach.
